In winter the proximity to the skiing and hiking area Mount Plose, located at an altitude of 2,500 meters, makes Bressanone the ideal destination for anyone who enjoys winter sports and high-altitude walks. The Plose ski resort boasts over 40 kilometres of ski slopes of all levels of difficulty for beginners and experts skiers, including the longest downhill slope in South Tyrol, the famous slope “Trametsch”. Close to the ski area Mount Plose, four cross-country trails, with a total length of almost 24 kilometres, leads through deep snow-covered forests. Mount Plose offers many alternatives besides skiing, such as snowshoeing, winter walks, closed bobsled on a rail-guided track, and over 12 km of toboggan runs to experience the mountains in winter in an alternative way staying immersed in the magic of snowy landscapes. A skibus service connecting Bressanone with Plose is available in winter time.
